Dave Limp, CEO of Blue Origin, wanted clarity if the company was a hobby or a business before accepting his position after 14 years at Amazon. Jeff Bezos convinced him of Blue Origin’s business intentions despite major internal setbacks. Blue Origin projects include New Glenn rocket aimed to compete in U.S. launch market.

Limp is working to shift Blue Origin’s culture to focus on manufacturing and delivering for customers with new key leadership additions. Blue’s priority in 2024 is to launch New Glenn rocket and ramp up engine production, delivering multiple BE-4 engines to ULA. Blue aims to launch 10 New Glenn missions next year and land the rocket successfully on its first attempt.
