Half of the world’s population will experience a mental health disorder, yet there are only 13 mental health workers per 100,000 people globally. Madrid startup Therapyside is offering therapists AI tools to improve mental health services, allowing them to focus on building trust with clients and reaching connections quicker.

Therapyside’s AI tools, including speech recognition for transcriptions and a virtual assistant named Maia, aim to save therapists time and improve session efficiency. The tools are currently in a beta program with over 1,000 licensed therapists in Europe, helping them provide more personalized support to clients worldwide.

AI microservices from NVIDIA Inception program power Therapyside’s online therapy platform. These services, including speech recognition models and virtual assistants, enable therapists to focus on their clients instead of administrative tasks. Plans to expand features include additional language support and improvements to increase tool efficiency and power.

The AI tools used by Therapyside are highly accurate, providing therapists with live transcriptions and summaries of sessions. These tools allow therapists to fully focus on their clients during sessions, with Maia assisting them in recalling important details about their clients’ lives and providing personalized support.

Therapyside’s AI pipeline runs on NVIDIA GPUs in a secure cloud environment using NIM microservices to speed up AI deployment. The use of NVIDIA Riva NIM microservices for transcription and Llama 3.1 NIM microservices for summary generation ensures accurate and secure delivery of clinical records and responses by Maia.

NVIDIA’s Kimberly Powell will discuss Therapyside and other healthcare innovators at the October HLTH conference. The goal is to continue enhancing Therapyside’s tools, such as Maia, to better support specific therapeutic methods like cognitive behavioral therapy and increase safety and security with NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails integration.
