General Motors has updated its Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban large SUVs for the 2025 model year to defend its segment leadership against competitors like Ford, Jeep, and Nissan. The updated vehicles include new styling, enhanced performance, and GM’s hands-free Super Cruise system. Pricing will range from $60,000 to over $86,000.

GM’s retail market share for full-size SUVs, including Chevrolet and GMC models, stands at 64%, down from over 70% in 2020. The company faces increased competition as Ford and Nissan have also updated their large SUV offerings for this year.

The mainstream full-size SUV segment represents 2.7% of the U.S. market and has seen steady growth in recent years. GM reported lower sales of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban this year due to model-year changes, but the brand remains the segment leader. Sales were off 19.3% compared to last year.

Sales of the Ford Expedition, the closest competitor to Chevy’s SUVs, totaled 73,396 units in 2023 and were up 3% through September of this year. GM is gearing up for the arrival of the updated 2025 Tahoe and Suburban models in U.S. dealerships in the coming weeks.
