Asia stocks mixed; Hong Kong rallies on IPO, China stimulus

Most Asian stocks were directionless due to rising U.S. Treasury yields and election uncertainty. Hong Kong stocks had a 1.7% rally, led by China Resources Beverage’s strong IPO debut. Chinese markets also rose after Beijing’s stimulus measures. U.S. stock futures dipped in Asian trade. China’s indexes increased after the People’s Bank of China cut interest rates and announced more stimulus. Japanese and Australian markets were flat, while South Korea’s KOSPI also remained stable. Indian index futures indicated a negative start due to profit-taking and foreign outflows.
