The Boston Beer Company (NYSE:SAM) beat Q3 earnings estimates with $5.35 EPS, above the expected $5.03. Revenue rose 0.6% YoY to $605.5 million, slightly exceeding the $605.14 million forecast. However, full-year guidance of $8.00 to $10.00 per share fell short of the $9.58 consensus, citing weaker beverage trends.

Q3 depletions dropped 3% and shipment volume fell 1.9% to 2.24 million barrels. Despite this, gross margin improved to 46.3%, up 60 basis points from last year, due to price increases and procurement efficiencies. The news led to a 3% drop in shares intra-day.
