From CNBC: 2024-11-04 07:26:37

Singapore Airlines is adding a four-seat first class to its Airbus A350-900 URLs for ultra-long-haul flights, including the New York to Singapore route. The carrier will also revamp its cabins with new business class seats featuring a suite with sliding doors to enhance privacy and luxury.

The new first- and business-class seats on Singapore Airlines will offer updated in-flight entertainment and a focus on comfort, luxury, and modernity. Airlines globally are investing billions to revamp premium cabins to attract travelers seeking more space and comfort on long-haul flights.

Singapore Airlines plans to retrofit 34 long-range Airbus A350s with new cabins, including first class, by mid-2026. The upgrades will increase business class seats to 70 and premium economy seats to 58, catering to the growing demand for premium travel experiences.

American Airlines is retrofitting Boeing 777s to feature a 70-seat business class, eliminating separate first class cabins. The airline will also upgrade business-class seats on 777s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners with designs that include sliding doors, amid industry-wide demand for premium seating post-pandemic.
