Ford’s October sales increase 15.2% from subdued levels in 2023

Ford Motor reported a 15.2% increase in U.S. new vehicle sales in October, with a 29.2% rise in truck sales following the 2023 union strike. The automaker’s U.S. market share grew to 12.6%, outpacing the industry’s 10% increase. Hybrid vehicle sales surged by 38.5% while EV sales dropped by 8.3%.

Despite a temporary halt in production of the all-electric F-150 Lightning, Ford’s EV sales rose by 38.2% through October. Overall U.S. sales increased by 3.8% to over 1.7 million vehicles. The company’s focus on hybrids has paid off, with a 14.1% increase in traditional vehicle sales alongside the 8.3% decline in EV sales.
