Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) reported slower sales growth in October, with revenue at T$314.24 billion, up 24.8% from the previous month and 29.2% from October 2023. Year-on-year growth fell from nearly 40% to 31.5% for January to October, slightly softer than the 31.9% rise in the previous period.
TSMC, the world’s largest contract chipmaker, saw strong earnings in the September quarter driven by AI chip demand. Despite an improved outlook for AI demand, the company warned of weakening chip demand from sectors like personal computers and smartphones. TSMC plays a crucial role in the supply chain for tech giants like NVDA and AAPL.
