Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company will suspend production of advanced AI chips for Chinese chip design companies starting Monday, as reported by Financial Times. TSMC will not manufacture AI chips at process nodes of seven nanometres or smaller for Chinese customers. Future supplies will require approval, potentially involving Washington. TSMC has not commented on the market rumor, stating their commitment to compliance with regulations. The U.S. Department of Commerce has yet to respond to requests for comments.
