Asian markets remained cautious on Friday, with investors wary of U.S. interest rate cuts. Mixed economic data from Japan and China added to the uncertainty. Chinese stocks were muted, with weak economic indicators and fears of a renewed trade war with the U.S. Japanese markets, however, were upbeat despite weak GDP growth. The Bank of Japan may have little room to raise interest rates further. Broader Asian markets were mixed, with Australia rising and South Korea falling. Indian markets faced foreign capital outflows and sticky inflation. Trump’s proposed tariffs also weighed on sentiment in the region.
