Following an E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald’s slivered onions, the fast-food giant plans to invest over $100 million to boost sales and support affected franchisees. Recovery efforts include $65 million for struggling owners, $35 million for marketing, and local recovery plans. The outbreak has led to 104 cases, 37 hospitalizations, and one death across 14 states. McDonald’s has since reinstated Quarter Pounder burgers on the menu nationwide.
