The two leaders discussed conflicts ranging from cyber crime to trade, Taiwan, the South China Sea, and Russia. Biden emphasized maintaining leader-to-leader talks even after he leaves office. The U.S. and Chinese presidents also discussed human control over nuclear weapons and North Korea’s ties with Russia. Major issues raised included recent China-linked hacks and Beijing’s pressure on Taiwan and in the South China Sea. Biden called for an end to Beijing’s military activities around Taiwan.
