Australia stocks closed higher on Monday, with the ASX 200 up 0.18%. Top gainers included South32 Ltd, up 6.20%, and Mineral Resources Ltd, up 5.76%. Appen Ltd was the biggest loser, down 6.91%. The VIX, measuring ASX 200 options, rose 3.30%. Gold futures rose 0.85%, while oil prices also saw gains. AUD/USD was flat at 0.65.
