October the Best Month for Fund Flows in 2024

Europe-domiciled long-term funds saw net inflows of EUR 62.6 billion in October, despite global market setbacks. Active equity funds attracted EUR 25.4 billion, with EUR 3.4 billion in new subscriptions. The ECB cut key rates, while UK’s budget increased spending. Bond funds received EUR 41.8 billion in net inflows, the best since July 2019.
Long-term index funds gained EUR 29.2 billion in inflows, surpassing actively managed funds. Market share of index funds rose to 29.19% in October 2024. Funds under Article 8 of the SFDR had EUR 16.7 billion in inflows, while Article 9 funds saw outflows of EUR 3.0 billion. Winners and losers among asset managers were also identified in Europe in October 2024.
