U.S. law enforcement arrested a homeless Florida man for plotting to bomb the New York Stock Exchange, saying he felt like Bin Laden. Harun Abdul-Malik Yener took steps to set off a bomb outside the stock exchange in lower Manhattan, according to an FBI affidavit.

Yener, assigned a federal public defender, expressed anti-government sentiment and interest in joining right-wing militias. FBI agents found bomb-making schematics and electronics in his possession, leading to his arrest.

Yener told undercover employees that setting off an explosive device would lead to a “reboot” of the U.S. government. He specifically wanted to target the Stock Exchange to wake people up, expressing a desire for a powerful device to cause maximum damage.
