Japan stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Nikkei 225 rising by 1.08%. Top performers included Keisei Electric Railway, Recruit Holdings, and T&D Holdings. However, Mercari Inc, Meiji Holdings, and Nexon Co Ltd were among the worst performers. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones, with 1870 to 1701, and 312 ending unchanged.
Meiji Holdings Co., Ltd. saw its shares fall to 52-week lows, dropping by 3.03% to 3,199.00. The Nikkei Volatility Index decreased by 9.60% to 23.64. In commodities trading, crude oil and Brent oil prices dropped, while gold futures fell to $2,692.50 a troy ounce.
The USD/JPY pair was down by 0.31% at 154.26, and the EUR/JPY pair fell by 0.02% to 161.59. The US Dollar Index Futures also declined by 0.52% to 106.95.
