Brazil stocks closed lower, with the Bovespa down 2.40% to hit a 3-month low. Top performers included JBS SA and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA, while MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA and Cvc Brasil ON saw significant declines. Falling stocks outnumbered advancers on the B3 Stock Exchange, with MRV hitting 5-year lows.
The Bovespa volatility index rose by 9.93%, while Gold Futures fell by 0.11% to $2,661.80 per troy ounce. Crude oil rose by 0.23% to $68.88 per barrel, and coffee futures also saw a slight increase. The USD/BRL exchange rate was up by 1.31% to 6.02, while EUR/BRL rose by 1.15% to 6.35. The US Dollar Index Futures increased by 0.07% to 106.12.
