Taiwan stock market closes higher by 2.13% led by tech and communication sectors

Taiwan stocks rose on Tuesday, with technology and communication sectors leading the gains. The Taiwan Stock Exchange gained 2.13% by the close. Top performers included Logah Technology Corp, Arima Communications Corp, and Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd. However, Lead Data Inc, Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd, and Ace Pillar Co Ltd were among the worst performers.

Arima Communications Corp reached 5-year highs, rising 9.95% to 24.30. Crude oil prices for January delivery increased to $68.23 a barrel, while Brent oil for February delivery rose to $72.03 a barrel. Gold futures also saw an uptick, trading at $2,664.91 a troy ounce.

The USD/TWD exchange rate was up 0.10% at 32.64, with TWD/CNY remaining unchanged at 0.22. The US Dollar Index Futures showed a slight increase of 0.06% at 106.49.
