Allianz and Amundi have paused talks about merging their asset management businesses, which would have managed 2.8 trillion euros in assets. Allianz was exploring options for its Allianz Global Investors unit, valued at over 4 billion euros. A key issue was control of the combined group. Allianz’s finance chief expressed satisfaction with the current setup.
