Vay, a Berlin-based company, offers teledriving technology for autonomous driving. Users can hail a car through the app, with a teledriver remotely driving it to the location. The system allows for sustainable mobility with a human driver controlling the vehicle in real-time. Vay’s technology is built on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform for safe, AI-defined autonomous vehicles.
Vay’s technology stack includes NVIDIA DRIVE AGX software optimized for latency and processing power. The system can process and transmit high-definition video feeds in real-time, providing critical situational awareness to teledrivers. In emergencies, the vehicle can safely stop. Vay aims to reshape urban transportation and logistics with their advanced driverless technology.
Professionally trained teledrivers at Vay remotely drive vehicles from specialized teledrive stations with standard controls. The teledrivers receive real-time road traffic sounds and surroundings through microphones and camera sensors. Vay’s technology addresses complex edge cases with human supervision, enhancing safety and reducing costs. Vay is a member of NVIDIA Inception program, known for teledriving a vehicle on public streets without a safety driver in Europe.
Vay has been operating commercial services in Las Vegas since January and secured partnerships with Bayanat, Ush, Poppy, and Peugeot. The startup recently received a $35 million investment from the European Investment Bank to expand across Europe and grow its development team.
