Taiwan stocks closed lower on Monday, with losses in various sectors dragging down shares. The Taiex declined by 0.11% by the end of the trading session. Oceanic Beverages Co Inc, Asia Optical Co Inc, and Alchip Technologies Ltd were among the top gainers, while Arima Communications Corp, AzureWave Technologies Inc, and Lead Data Inc were the worst performers. Crude oil prices dropped to $70.44 a barrel for January delivery. The USD/TWD exchange rate decreased to 32.48, and the US Dollar Index Futures fell to 106.50.
