Verizon partners with NVIDIA for real-time AI using 5G private network, aiming for innovation

Verizon Communications Inc. has partnered with NVIDIA Corporation to utilize its 5G private network for real-time Generative AI applications. This collaboration aims to drive digital transformation and innovation for businesses globally. Leveraging Verizon’s MEC technology and NVIDIA’s AI capabilities, the solution offers ultra-low latency and high bandwidth for various AI applications.

Verizon conducted a successful trial using Ciena’s WaveLogic 6 Extreme coherent optical solution to transfer 1.6 Tb/s of data over a live fiber network. This test showcased the network’s ability to handle massive AI workloads in real-time. By deploying advanced technologies, Verizon strengthens its position as a top network provider for AI workloads, potentially leading to increased revenue and stock performance.
