Indonesia stocks closed lower, with losses in various sectors dragging shares down. The Jakarta Composite fell 1.80% to a new 3-month low. Top gainers included Steady Safe TBK PT, Pembangunan Graha Lestari Tbk, and PT Dewi SHRI Farmindo Tbk. Meanwhile, Himalaya Energi Perkasa Tbk PT, J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk, and Lion Metal Works Tbk were among the worst performers.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, with 577 declining, 95 advancing, and 159 unchanged. PT Dewi SHRI Farmindo Tbk reached a 52-week high. Crude oil prices dropped, with January delivery down 1.33% to $69.64 a barrel. Brent oil for February fell 0.45% to $73.06 a barrel, while February Gold Futures declined 0.90% to $2,629.44 a troy ounce.
The USD/IDR exchange rate rose 1.27% to 16,290.00, and the AUD/IDR increased by 1.35% to 10,211.63. The US Dollar Index Futures were up 0.04% at 107.79.
