Australia stocks closed lower on Friday, with losses in various sectors dragging shares down by 1.24%, hitting a new 3-month low. Top performers included Codan Ltd and Pointsbet Holdings Ltd, while Mesoblast Ltd and Wesfarmers Ltd were among the worst performers. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones, with the volatility index down by 0.87%.

Gold futures rose by 0.17% to $2,612.61 per ounce, while crude oil prices fell, with January delivery at $68.95 a barrel. The AUD/USD remained steady at 0.62, while AUD/JPY dropped to 97.80. The US Dollar Index Futures saw a slight increase to 108.20.
