Tech giants like Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Meta Platforms are turning to nuclear energy to power their AI infrastructure in 2025. With the demand for energy-intensive data centers on the rise, nuclear energy offers a sustainable and reliable solution. Companies are entering agreements for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to support nuclear energy development. Amazon, for example, is collaborating with Energy Northwest to develop four advanced SMRs. Similarly, Alphabet has partnered with nuclear startup Kairos Power to purchase electricity from SMRs. Microsoft is investing in reviving the Three Mile Island nuclear plant, while Meta Platforms plans to add new nuclear generation capacity. This strategic shift in energy sources is expected to benefit these tech leaders in the coming year.
