Apple is developing a smart doorbell with Face ID and end-to-end encryption for security.

Apple is developing a new smart doorbell using Face ID for unlocking, with a Secure Enclave chip to protect user data. The system will have a deadbolt lock that automatically unlocks after biometric verification.

To enhance security, Apple plans to use HomeKit Secure Video with end-to-end encryption for storing footage in iCloud. The company may collaborate with HomeKit smart locks or another smart lock provider for a complete system.

The smart doorbell is expected to launch by the end of 2025 at the earliest. Apple is also rumored to introduce a smart home hub next year based on Apple Intelligence.
