Canadian market closed higher with gains in energy and Tilray, Payfare soared, Hut 8 Corp down.

The Canadian market closed higher on Monday, with the S&P/TSX Composite Index gaining 0.61% to 24,748.98. Tilray Inc surged 15.2%, while energy stocks like Birchcliff Energy and Advantage Oil & Gas also saw gains. Payfare Inc soared 80% after announcing a buyout deal. On the flip side, Hut 8 Corp closed down 7.1%. Canadian GDP contracted by 0.1% in November, the first decline in eleven months. Industrial product prices rose by 0.6% in November, while producer prices increased by 2.2% year-over-year. Manufacturing sales likely rose by 0.5% in November.
