European markets closed for Boxing Day holiday, while Wall Street indexes closed higher

Major stock markets around the world are closed today for the Boxing Day holiday, including Germany, France, London, Spain, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, markets in mainland China, Japan, South Korea, and India remain open for trading. Wall Street’s main indexes closed higher on Christmas Eve, with the Dow rising 0.9%, the Nasdaq Composite rallying 1.4%, and the S&P 500 adding 1.1%. The Nasdaq Stock Exchange and NYSE were closed on December 25 for Christmas, but will resume trading today. The Santa Claus rally is in full swing as tech stocks lead the way.
