The Treasury Department announced that this month’s auction of $44 billion in seven-year notes had above average demand, with a high yield of 4.532 percent and a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.76. Last month, a similar auction drew a high yield of 4.183 percent and a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.71. The bid-to-cover ratio is a measure of demand, with the previous ten auctions averaging 2.59. In addition, this month’s auction of $69 billion in two-year notes had above average demand, while the $70 billion five-year note auction had average demand.
