The Dow fell 1%, Nasdaq dropped 1.2%, and S&P 500 shed 1.1%. Sectors like Consumer Discretionary, Technology, Health Care, and Materials all saw declines. Geopolitical conflicts in Russia, Ukraine, Israel, and other regions are adding to investor worries. High valuations of U.S. stocks, including Tesla, Meta, and Apple, are concerning investors. Economic data showed pending home sales rose 2.2% in November, the highest level since February 2023.
