Meta Platforms announced the addition of three new directors to its board, including UFC CEO Dana White, investor Charlie Songhurst, and Exor CEO John Elkann. CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed excitement about the expertise they bring in AI, wearables, and human connection. The move highlights Meta’s efforts to expand its leadership team.
White, a close friend of President-elect Donald Trump, has a history of supporting Trump, speaking at Republican National Conventions and maintaining a relationship with Zuckerberg. Elkann, CEO of Exor and Stellantis NV, also joins the board, along with Songhurst, a member of Meta’s AI advisory group. Meta is positioning itself for a potential second Trump presidency.
In a further show of support for conservatives, Meta recently promoted Republican policy executive Joel Kaplan to global affairs head and donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural fund.
