US economic activity is expected to show slower growth in the upcoming Q4 report, with a projected rise in GDP of 2.1%, down from Q3’s 3.1% increase. This would be the slowest growth since Q1 2024. The Bureau of Economic Analysis will release the preliminary data on January 30.

While the 2.1% estimate remains unchanged, it is slightly below the 2.7% average for the past four quarters. However, some believe that the actual growth could be stronger, with PMI survey data indicating a 3% increase. Business activity in the services sector surged at the end of 2024, leading to rising optimism for the year ahead.
