Russia stocks rose 1.77% at close of trade, with top performers including Severstal and Novolipetsk Steel.

Russia stocks closed higher on Friday, with the MOEX adding 1.77%. Top performers included Severstal, Novolipetsk Steel, and Mobil’nye Telesistemy. On the other hand, Rosneft, Surgutneftegas, and Surgutneftegas Pref were among the worst performers. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by a wide margin, with 200 gaining, 44 declining, and 8 unchanged.

The MOEX Russia Index options implied volatility index decreased by 19.74% to 28.71, hitting a new 1-month low. Gold futures for February delivery rose by 0.99% to $2,717.56 per troy ounce, while crude oil prices also saw gains. USD/RUB was down 0.49% at 101.75, EUR/RUB fell 0.98% to 104.26, and the US Dollar Index Futures rose by 0.43% to 109.47.
