MicroStrategy holds 2.1% of Bitcoin supply, making strategic acquisitions despite recent slowing trend.

MicroStrategy is now one of the top corporate Bitcoin holders, with 2.1% of the entire Bitcoin supply. Their holdings account for 447,470 BTC acquired for about $27.97 billion, or almost $62,503 per Bitcoin. The trend of their Bitcoin buys since August 2020 has slowed in recent weeks, despite purchasing 1,070 BTC for $101 million on Jan. 6.

IntoTheBlock highlighted MicroStrategy’s trend of smaller yet strategic Bitcoin acquisitions, including the recent $101 million purchase. Co-founder Michael Saylor aims to advance the company’s Bitcoin holding strategy, with a plan to raise $2 billion through offerings of perpetual preferred stock in the first quarter of 2025. MicroStrategy remains ahead of its capital goals despite recent smaller purchases.
