Taiwan stocks closed lower, Taiex down 0.30%, with technology and healthcare sectors leading losses.

Taiwan stocks closed lower on Monday, with losses in technology and healthcare sectors. The Taiex declined by 0.30% at the close. Vivotek Inc and Arima Communications Corp were among the top performers, while Favite Inc and Hsin Ba Ba Corp were among the worst performers.

In commodities trading, crude oil for March delivery rose 1.73% to $77.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for March delivery increased by 1.89% to $81.27 a barrel, and the February Gold Futures contract fell by 0.02% to $2,714.59 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD remained unchanged at 33.11, while TWD/CNY also remained unchanged at 0.22. The US Dollar Index Futures was up by 0.16% at 109.67.
