Sirios Resources Inc. announces positive results from the Fall-Winter drilling program at the Cheechoo project in Quebec. The last two drill holes, #319 and #320, intercepted high-grade gold mineralization at depths below the current resources. The company is confident in the potential for both open-pit and underground mining.
The primary objectives of the drill program are to gather data for a Mineral Resource Estimate update and test high-priority targets identified during a data review. The Cheechoo gold deposit contains multiple gold-enriched zones in a tonalite intrusion, with high-grade intervals suggesting additional zones beyond the current pit boundaries.
The Cheechoo property, located near Newmont’s Éléonore gold mine, has significant expansion and development potential. The most recent Mineral Resource Estimate for an open-pit model reported indicated resources of 1.4 million ounces at an average grade of 0.94 g/t Au and inferred resources of 500,000 ounces at an average grade of 0.73 g/t Au. Underground mining scenarios were not evaluated in the 2022 MRE.
Sirios Resources Inc. is a Quebec-based mineral exploration company focused on developing the Cheechoo gold property in Eeyou Istchee James Bay. The company’s CEO, Dominique Doucet, expressed confidence in the drilling results and the potential for both open-pit and underground mining at Cheechoo.
The company has a strict analytical quality control program in place for drill core samples, ensuring accurate assay results for gold content. The Mineral Resource Estimate conforms to NI 43-101 standards and was prepared by an independent qualified person. Forward-looking statements in the news release caution investors about potential risks and uncertainties in the mining industry.
