Taiwanese contract laptop makers Compal and Inventec are considering expanding into the U.S., specifically Texas, to prepare for President Trump’s threatened tariffs. Trump plans to impose 10% tariffs on global imports and 25% on Mexico, worrying Taiwanese companies. Wistron, already expanding outside China, believes their U.S. operations are ready for changes.
