From Investing.com: 2025-01-23 02:20:00
Stocks saw a big increase, rising by 63 basis points, but trading volume was weak with only 1.1 million contracts traded. The Bloomberg 500 showed 305 declining stocks, 193 rising, and 3 unchanged, with Nvidia and Microsoft contributing 86% of gains. The RSP ETF fell nearly 40 basis points, indicating concentrated gains in the market. Volatility metrics rose, with the VIX 1-Day at 9.9, suggesting a mechanical reset driving the rally. Treasury yields rose, with the 10-year at 4.61%. Inflation swaps for January, February, and March remained steady, but the 2-year swap dropped due to oil prices.
