Thai stock market bounced higher but may head south again on Monday

The Thai stock market bounced higher on Friday, with the SET finishing just beneath the 1,355-point mark. The global forecast for Asian markets is cautious ahead of the FOMC meeting. The index improved by 0.74 percent to close at 1,354.07, with gains from various sectors. Wall Street closed lower on Friday, with the Dow falling 0.32 percent, the NASDAQ dropping 0.50 percent, and the S&P 500 declining 0.29 percent. Concerns about interest rates ahead of the Federal Reserve’s meeting contributed to the weakness. Oil futures settled at $74.66 a barrel after a week of losses.
