The International Trade Commission rules in favor of US graphite producers against China.
From GlobeNewswire: 2025-02-02 17:24:02
NOVONIX Limited applauds preliminary determination by the International Trade Commission that China has suppressed the domestic graphite industry by exporting cheap graphite to the United States. The case was initiated by the American Active Anode Material Producers’ including NOVONIX, to investigate unfair pricing of graphite used in lithium-ion batteries. The ITC ruling aims to level the playing field for U.S. critical minerals producers like NOVONIX. If the investigation concludes, additional tariffs may be imposed on Chinese imports. NOVONIX’s Riverside facility in Chattanooga is set to begin large-scale production of synthetic graphite for the battery sector in early 2026. (Word count: 91)
