BlackRock Inc. is considering opening an office in Kuwait to expand its presence in the Middle East. The decision may be finalized later this month, as the company aims to capitalize on the untapped potential of the region. Competitors like Citigroup and Morgan Stanley have also been focusing on the Middle East, with C recently receiving approval to open its regional headquarters in Riyadh. BlackRock’s move will allow it to diversify operations and work closely with sovereign wealth funds in the region. Shares of BLK have gained 29.4% in the past year, underperforming the industry’s 42.2% growth.
