From CNBC: 2025-02-04 17:24:21

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) reported Q4 earnings that beat expectations, with EPS at $1.09 and revenue at $7.66 billion. However, the stock fell 6% after missing estimates in data center sales. AMD expects $7.1 billion in sales for Q1. Data center revenue was up 69% year-over-year to $3.86 billion, but fell short of analyst predictions.

AMD CEO Lisa Su projected strong double-digit revenue and EPS growth in 2025. The company’s data center division saw a 94% revenue increase to $12.6 billion for the full year, with $5 billion coming from sales of Instinct GPUs for AI. AMD’s client revenue, including chips for PCs and laptops, increased 58% to $2.3 billion.

Despite trailing Nvidia, AMD’s growth trajectory looks promising with the rapid scaling of its data center AI franchise. Revenue from gaming GPUs declined 59% to $563 million, while embedded chip sales were down 13% year-over-year. AMD remains optimistic about its long-term growth potential in the data center market.
