Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced fourth-quarter results that surpassed analysts’ revenue expectations but gave soft guidance, leading to a 7% premarket share drop. The company reported $11.96 billion in revenue, with a net income of $6.9 billion. Uber anticipates first-quarter gross bookings between $42-43.5 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $1.79-1.89 billion.

Uber is preparing for the public launch of robotaxi rides in Austin, Texas, through its partnership with Alphabet’s Waymo. Customers can join an interest list through the Uber app to increase their chances of being paired with a Waymo vehicle at launch. The platform completed 3.1 billion trips in the fourth quarter, with 171 million monthly active platform consumers.

Uber’s mobility segment reported $22.8 billion in gross bookings, up 18% year over year, while the delivery segment reported $20.1 billion, also up 18%. The mobility segment generated $6.91 billion in revenue, exceeding analyst expectations, and the delivery segment reported $3.77 billion in revenue. The freight business reported $1.28 billion in revenue, consistent with the previous year.
