France’s unemployment rate dropped to 7.3 percent in Q4, lower than the expected 7.5 percent, with 63,000 fewer unemployed. Steelmakers like Thyssenkrupp and Salzgitter fell, while BP reported a drop in profits. Entain’s CEO stepped down, Novartis agreed to acquire Anthos Therapeutics for up to $3.1 billion, and Kering saw a 5 percent jump in sales. Ams-OSRAM soared 18 percent, UniCredit tumbled 3.3 percent despite exceeding 2024 earnings expectations.
