The Taiwan stock market has dipped after a four-day winning streak, with the Taiwan Stock Exchange hovering just above 23,380 points and facing potential further losses due to concerns over interest rates. The TSE saw a slight decline on Wednesday, driven by losses in technology stocks but supported by gains in plastics and financials. Major players like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and Hon Hai Precision saw drops, while Formosa Plastics and Nan Ya Plastics surged. Wall Street also saw losses, with the Dow falling 225.09 points, NASDAQ up slightly, and S&P 500 down. Rising U.S. consumer prices have raised speculation about prolonged interest rate stability. Oil prices also fell due to a larger than expected increase in U.S. crude inventories, closing at $71.37 per barrel after three days of gains.
