Lower Open Called For China Stock Market

The China stock market bounced higher, with the Shanghai Composite Index just below 3,350 points. The global forecast is soft due to interest rate concerns. The SCI closed 0.85 percent higher, led by financial and property stocks. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China gained 1.17 percent. Wall Street closed lower, with the Dow dropping 0.50 percent. Inflation data in the U.S. exceeded expectations, raising speculation of prolonged interest rate holds. Oil prices fell over 2.66 percent to $71.37 a barrel after a larger than expected increase in U.S. crude inventories.
