The stock market saw a decline in February’s Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) and Consumer Sentiment Index (CSI). The CCI was affected by concerns about rising inflation, while the CSI was impacted by expectations of fewer job openings. Democrats were less confident than Republicans. The present situation component of the CCI remained relatively high, while the expectations component saw a big drop. Jobs are mostly available, with a solid labor market indicated. Despite some concerns about future job availability and income, the overall outlook remains positive, as reflected in the rebound of the stock market.
