Baidu launches ERNIE 4.5 and X1 AI models with competitive pricing and enhanced features

Baidu Inc. launched ERNIE 4.5 and ERNIE X1, its latest foundation models, for free on the ERNIE Bot platform. ERNIE X1 offers deep-thinking reasoning and multimodal capabilities at half the cost of DeepSeek R1. ERNIE 4.5, a native multimodal model, has competitive pricing starting at RMB 0.004 per thousand tokens for input and RMB 0.016 per thousand tokens for output. Baidu plans to integrate both models into its product ecosystem, including Baidu Search and the Wenxiaoyan app, to enhance user experience. ERNIE Bot is now free for individual users, with enterprise access through Baidu AI Cloud’s MaaS platform.
