The Taiwan stock market closed higher for the second consecutive session, gaining nearly 160 points. The positive trend is expected to continue on Tuesday, supported by global market optimism ahead of the FOMC meeting. On Monday, the TSE saw a modest increase, driven by the plastics sector while financial and resource stocks showed mixed performances. The index closed at 22,118.63, with Mega Financial and United Microelectronics Corporation among the active stocks. Wall Street also ended higher, with the Dow rising by 353.44 points. Oil futures increased on hopes of improved demand from China and Middle East tensions.
