Aleksei Andriunin, Gotbit founder, agrees to forfeit $23 million in Tether USDt and Circle’s USDC in a plea deal with Massachusetts prosecutors. He will plead guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and market manipulation. The agreement doesn’t bind the US Attorney General, only Andriunin and the attorney.

Andriunin, a Russian national, was extradited to the US in October 2024 and remains detained in Massachusetts. Gotbit, a Belize registered crypto market maker, is accused of orchestrating a crypto market manipulation scheme between 2017 and 2024.
